J. André OuelletteBorn in the province of Quebec and raised in Ontario, André Ouellette has been an Alberta resident since 1979. After obtaining a bachelor's degree in Fine Arts and having tried his hand at other careers - journalism and teaching high school - Mr. Ouellette completed his Law degree at the University of Calgary . Since 1984, he has been in private practice as a criminal lawyer with the Calgary firm of Ouellette Rice. He is a monitor for the pleading training sessions at the Faculty of Law at the University of Calgary, and a presenter for the Legal Education Society of Alberta (LESA), the Alberta Bar's continuing legal education body. He is especially proud of his involvement in the pleading training sessions in French Language and of his being the first to plead cases in French before a jury in Alberta . Mr. Ouellette has been sitting on the Language Rights Panel for the Court Challenges Program since the spring of 2001. Kathleen TanseyA member of the Language Rights Panel of the Court Challenges Program, Kathleen is a Montreal lawyer in private practice since 1982 whose area of specialization is Labour and Employment Law. She has also been a member of the Ontario Bar since 1987. She is a former High School English teacher with the Quebec and Montreal Catholic School Commissions. Volunteer work has included teaching drama programs at St. Vincent-de-Paul Penitentiary, Laval, Quebec, serving as a volunteer translator for the Quebec Paraplegic Association and involvement in a number of community organization. Léo Robert(more information soon) André BraënAndré Braën is professor at the Faculty of law, department of Civil Law, of the University of Ottawa. He has written numerous articles, book chapters and books mainly in admiralty law and language rights. He also possesses expertise in administrative and constitutional law. Gabriel ArsenaultGabriel Arsenault was Superintendent of Education of the Commission scolaire de langue française de l'Î.-P.-É. for 17 years, until his retirement in June 2005. He was involved in several other associations like the Association canadienne d'éducation de langue française, the Société éducative de l'Î.-P.-É, the Regroupement national des directions générales en éducation. Mr. Arsenault has been a member of the Language Rights Panel of the Court Challenges Program since July 2005. |
